The Legal Kiosk - Virtual Minute Book Software

The concept of a Virtual Minute Book for corporate records was pioneered by Emergent in 1999 and was designed as a way of allowing internal staff, typically lawyers and paralegals/clerks, to have immediate access to executed documents and the current status of a file, directly from their desk without having to play the “who has the minute book” game.  Like a physical minute book, the Virtual Minute Book looks and feels like a physical minute Book, and the corporate summary automatically displays as soon as the minute book is opened.

Now, the Virtual Minute Book is just one of over a dozen document sharing modules available in the Legal Kiosk™.  Licensed by module, the Legal Kiosk™ lets you take document sharing and collaboration with your clients to a whole new level.

The Legal Kiosk™ is a marketing and collaboration software tool which allows you to seamlessly and securely share documents with your clients, internal staff, partners, outside counsel or any other authorized individual.   Legal Kiosk™ users only see documents that have been specifically chosen for sharing, keeping you in control of documents that can be shared and those which cannot.

With the Legal Kiosk™, any document in a corporate record matter can be shared and reviewed by any authorized user securely.  For example, you can easily share:

  • Articles of Incorporation
  • Articles of Amalgamation, Dissolution, Revival
  • Master Business License
  • By-Laws
  • Share Certificates
  • Resolutions
  • Shareholders Ledger
  • Shareholder, Officer & Director Registers
  • Annuals/Renewals
  • And any other document related to a corporate records matter…

All shared documents are organized by eBook “tab” and displayed to authorized users as simply as flipping pages within an actual book.  The Legal Kiosk™ can be purchased as a stand-alone application or integrated with existing automation systems.  In either case, the software for a corporate record file is licensed at a minimal per File per annum, regardless of the size of the File.  The license fee can be treated as a disbursement to the corporate records file.

eBook:

All documents for sharing are organized by the area of service that they apply to, just as they are now within your organization.  Legal Kiosk™ editors simply identify which documents are to be shared and which eBook tab those documents should appear in.  Only those documents selected are displayed to the Legal Kiosk™ viewer.

External access:

Legal Kiosk™ users simply create one profile for their client, and all the files that client is connected to (no matter which area of service) can be tailored for specific access to documents.  Your client does not need a separate profile for each matter; they only need one regardless of whether they are a party to a real estate transaction, a director of a corporation or one of many people with access to a closing book.

Security:

The Legal Kiosk™ uses the same security that major financial institutions use to keep online account access secure.  In addition, all documents viewable through the Legal Kiosk™ are physically stored within your organization's network.  Documents are not stored in the cloud, making the Legal Kiosk™ the ideal choice for organizations wishing to keep tight control over security and confidentiality, while enhancing the service they provide their clients.

I have a busy practice in a small, northern Ontario community and I never had time to look at software offers. A year ago, I realized I would always be too busy if I didn't do something to change how I managed my files and generated documents. I spent the time to look at numerous programs and found that Corporate Manager ET exceeded all of the needs of my corporate clients. I recovered the time I...Read More
