Estate Planning Pricing
Estate Planning is licensed using two primary licensing models; the Traditional licensing model, or a pay-per-use model.
Pay-per-use licensing:
How it works:
Well over 75% of firms who purchase Estate Planning, purchase the software on this pay-per-use model. It allows the cost of the software to be disbursed to your estate clients the same way you would disburse charges for couriers. While we refer to this as pay-per-use, it can really be better described as a cost-per-file. The difference being that Emergent only charges you initially when the file is initially entered into the software, or when the file is updated again, presumably when the client returns years later to have their Will updated. In the meantime, the file in the software is flagged as "closed" (as you do not have any active work for that client). The information remains in the software for when your client re-engages your firm.
Costs:
Emergent offers the following two options for firms looking to use Estate Planning on a pay-per-use basis:
No annual commitment - $45/File. Only pay only when you use the Software: Click Here To Order
Use Emergent's Estate Planning software under this model for only $45 per file and cancel at any time. For this, you are allowed to install the base software on as many computers as you like within the firm, and you are charged at the beginning of the month following all per file fees. All of Emergent's professional services, such as data conversion and precedent customization, or optional legalese or plain language content, are charged seperately. All training conducted through Emergent's scheduled webinar's is included in the $45 per file charge. You can of course, just refer to the manual which is electronically available through the software. To get started, you only need to provide your contact information, pay a $200 installation fee and provide a $250 deposit for all per file charges.
Annual commitment - can be as low as $6.00/File. Terms and Conditions apply: Contact Us for a Quote
The Estate Planning per file fee can be substantially reduced, even to as low as $6.00 per file, based on a number of factors such as the number of active files you create each year and the length of time you are planning on using Estate Planning. Please contact us to see whether you would qualify for a per file fee reduction. Generally speaking, if your firm creates less than 20 files per year, we recommend you license Estate Planning under the $45/File no annual commitment model above.
Traditional licensing:
Some firms want to have a fixed cost for the software they use and the annual support that is provided. We refer to this as the traditional licensing model. Under this model, each computer which is installed with Estate Planning is charged a fixed fee and all professional services are charged à la carte. The total license fees are charged when the system is licensed. All upgrades and updates to the software, as well as the availability of Emergent's Customer Care team, are included in an annual support fee. This annual support fee is calculated as a percentage of the total license fees being purchased. In this regard, the traditional model allows a firm to budget a specific amount in year one and know how much the support of the software will cost in each subsequent year.
Unlike the pay-per-use licensing model where the cost of the software is spread out over many files, the traditional licensing model moves the cost up front into the initial purchase. As a result, fees under the traditional licensing model start at $4,000 in the first year. Please contact Emergent directly to obtain an exact quote based on your needs. If $4,000 is not within your budget at this time, we recommend you select the pay-per-use licensing model above.
