Q: What is the difference between the previous version of the Virtual Minute Book and the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™?
A: There are many marketing, social media, collaboration and seamless integration features offered by the Legal Kiosk™ which weren’t available in the previous version of the Virtual Minute Book. Please review the Legal Kiosk™ section of the website for a detailed list of differences. In addition to these differences, the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ can be connected (or not connected) to a corporate records software application. The previous version of the Virtual Minute Book was only available when connected to Emergent’s Corporate Manager ET. This means now you can use the Legal Kiosk™ with your current system without changing how you are used to creating documents.
Q: What is the license fee for a corporate file?
A: The License Fee for a corporate file is $50 per year as long as the corporation is an active client of your firm. Volume discounts are available for those firms wishing to commit to a Term and minimum volume per year, and with the discount, the License Fee could be as low as $6 per File per year. Emergent is happy to provide a no obligation quote.
Q: Is there an annual support fee or any additional fees beyond the license fee per file?
A: There is a one-time installation fee of $750 per office location for the Legal Kiosk™ and a $250 per year Annual Subscription fee (which includes support and updates). The installation fee is reduced to $200 and the Annual Subscription fee is waived for firms committing to use the software for a certain volume and Term.
Q: I am looking at purchasing Corporate Manager ET. Do I have to pay a license fee for Corporate Manager ET as well as the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™?
A: If you are purchasing Corporate Manager ET with an annual term commitment to volume, then your license fee for the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ is included for free. In most cases, purchasing Corporate Manager ET with an annual term commitment to volume is usually only $2-5 per File more than the license fee for the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ alone. If you are purchasing Corporate Manager ET but are not committing to a term and volume, then yes, the license fee for the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ will be in addition to the license fee for Corporate Manager ET. Both Corporate Manager ET and the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ are substantially cheaper when you sign up for an annual term commitment to volume.
Q: What is the minimum annual volume we need to have in order to get pricing discounts for Corporate Manager ET and the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™?
A: Annual term commitments for Corporate Manager ET and the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ start at a minimum of 60 files per year and at that annual term commitment, the License Fee is $25 per File per year. The greater your volume and the longer the annual term commitment, the lower the License Fee…even to as low as $6/File. By comparison, licensing Corporate Manager ET and the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ without an annual term commitment would cost $95 per File. So, the greater your volume and the longer your term, the cheaper the software is per File.
Q: I create my documents using Microsoft Word (or WordPerfect). Do I need to use your document creation software to use the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™?
A: No. We of course would be happy to see you as a client of our document creation software, but that’s not a requirement. You can keep creating documents how you create them now.
Q: I use a corporate records product from another vendor but they don’t have a virtual minute book module. Can I still use your Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ to share documents with my clients?
A: Absolutely. The product you are using now is creating your documents. Once the documents have been created/executed, you can use the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ to share those documents with your clients and/or staff.
Q: Can the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ fully integrate with the current (non-Emergent) corporate records product our firm currently uses?
A: Most likely. There are many procedural and technical questions which need to be answered before a definitive answer can be provided. Please contact Emergent directly.
Q: Is there a demo version of the Virtual Minute Book module of the Legal Kiosk™ that I can play with before deciding whether or not to purchase?
A: Unfortunately, no. Emergent conducts web presentations during which you can see and (in the case of a private web presentations) directly control the software, but these are pre-scheduled sessions. Please contact Emergent directly to schedule a review.
